Our leadership and expertise is best exemplified by our commitment to quality. In 2002, Allied Bindery became the first trade bindery in Michigan to be certified to the ISO 9001 international quality standard. We are now ISO 9001:2015 certified. For Allied, compliance with this standard ensures product compliance to pre-defined, critical characteristics prior to manufacturing. Time interval validation checks ensure continued compliance through job completion.
Our company’s quality philosophy and ISO 9001:2015 certified status is further supported by our on-going commitment to continuously improve our products and services.
Two examples of our quality system procedures are pull strength testing of our spine glue and flex testing that evaluates the flexibility and durability of bookbinding. The pull strength test measures the adhesive strength or binding strength of book pages or other printed materials. You can read more about this here: Pull Strength Testing at Allied Bindery.
The flex testing is performed to assess the ability of binding materials to withstand repeated bending or flexing without cracking, peeling, or otherwise failing. You can read more about this here: Binding Flex Testing at Allied Bindery.
