Allied Bindery is committed to using customer feedback as well as industry trends to shape our internal procedures and offer you the best service possible. Here’s an example: Recent industry news has shown that estimates for projects of all types seldom reach customers as quickly as they need them. To that end, here are a few things Allied Bindery and our customers can do together to deliver quotes more quickly and accurately:
Not Just Numbers
The most accurate estimates are the result of precise information supplied to your finisher. Specifications such as quantity, trimmed size and spine width are the “meat and potatoes” of your project-in-development. However, pertinent information isn’t always numerical. Details such as packing and shipping instructions are valuable pieces of information that help us prepare you a precise estimate (and great-looking job!)
Often, customers need to request a similar quote several times as certain aspects of a job change in the early stages. For requotes, remember to have your quote number ready when contacting Allied Bindery. This helps avoid the re-entry of all job information, allowing us to return a quote as quickly as possible.
| At Allied Bindery, we're ready to take your job specifications any way you can get them to us: phone, fax, email...whatever! |
It’s Not an Inquisition
At Allied Bindery, we’ve developed a short list of questions our estimators will ask to determine the basic outline of your project. We call these our “quality attribute questions,” and focus on stocks, coatings, alignments, bleeds, trims and similar details.
Your answers help us determine the most efficient method of production for your project, and often shape recommendations from Allied Bindery that will help improve the finished product. For example, a book with multiple stocks and coatings may require the strength of durable PUR glue instead of regular hot melt adhesive. In these cases, we’ll be happy to provide estimates for both versions to help you make the best decision for your project.
The Allied Advantage
At ISO-certified Allied Bindery, we’re prepared to take job specifications by phone, email, fax or our speedy online estimate form. Of course, planning and layout advice is always free and friendly. Give us a call today to talk about your next project.
